ABOUT BLACK HORSE RUN
Black Horse Run (BHR) is the first neighborhood of its kind in Wake County. Established as an exclusive residential-only neighborhood in North Raleigh in 1973, BHR’s neighbors have grown a community that is equestrian-friendly, socially active, and a cornerstone of growth in North Raleigh. Originally envisioned by Bill Allen & Associates in the early 1970s, Black Horse Run has grown from a close handful of original neighbors to a thriving community of just more than 250 custom-built homes.
While BHR was once a more rural community, many other neighborhoods, schools, and other amenities have grown around us over the decades, making our location a prime one for those seeking both space and convenience. In fact, BHR’s easy access to I-540 and other main routes gives residents a quick connection to all that the Triangle area offers.
